First Impressions
Tanaya asked what kind of first impression do you make?
Well, according to this summary, I am not too bad.
However, I am a ball of nerves whenever I am placed in a social situation in which I know few people or I am required to make a good impression. As the company has grown and as W has been asked to join various groups and associations about town, these opportunities have increased. So has my angst.
To illustrate how I can initially come across, early during our courtship, we went to one of W's friend's parents' holiday open house. This couple had recently completely redone their house. The couple was great - very hospitable, opening their home to various business and political associates as well as their children's friends. They also opened their liquor cabinet and their entire home for the evening, including the master suite. The same master suite in which the wife's image adorned the ceiling above the bed. Naked.
My immediate response, spoken a bit too loudly given that I was working my way through my third Sapphire and tonic, "this reminds me of Vegas!"
To which all of W's friends, who had up to now not understood exactly what W and I had in common, looked at each other, nodding as if to mean, "Ah! Now we understand."
W and I are both extremely outspoken at times. I typically need some liquid courage to freely speek my mind.
Over the years, I have learned to tame my tongue. It is less sore than it used to be as I have started to master the art of simply smiling, nodding my head and moving on.

Love the story about the Vegas bedroom. My first impression of you was how cool and friendly you were :)
Naked? Above the bed? EWWWWW!!!!
And the test said I make a great 1st impression. Not so sure about that!
"Vegas!" HAAA! I think I would have been inclined to be more impressed with that comment than a smile and nod!
I am just stunned that anyone would want a picture of themselves naked over their bed. Yikes.
Personally, I have always found you very friendly and easy to talk to!
