Question of the Day:
Consider that the following must be done each workday morning:
1. pump your breasts
2. make your bed
3. get breakfast for your son
4. work out at least 30-45 minutes
5. normal showering routine
6. change diaper, clothes & feed baby girl
7. make and pack bottles
8. start car to warm up
9. take kids to two separate schools that are adjacent to each other
Tell me what time you would have to get up in order to do all of the above & make it to work by 8 a.m.

Wake up? With all that, who has time for sleep!?
Hope you are well T - I think of you often - Sharon
momsy says . . .
You are amazing!! Jocelyn & Nathan are so fortunate to have you as a mom!!
Just don't forget to take care of yourself.
Pull my hair out and run screaming into the early morning light...
Skip 2.
Can you pump and work out at the same time?
5:30.
I would soooo skip making the bed and would try to do bottles the night before so I could make it to 5:45. I like the multi-tasking of pumping and working out at the same time. Is that remotely possible asks your friend who was/is successful at neither?
Yikes! I like the idea of skipping what you can... Like maybe making the bed? What do you fed him for B.fast? Can do that easier, something he could help with?
Is it even possible to pump and work out?
Good luck.
Here'd be my plan:
1. pump your breasts-do it in bed first thing upon waking up while I mentally plan my day
2. make your bed-be happy with just pulling the covers up
3. get breakfast for your son-have some prepackaged choices for him, yogurt, cereal (put it in a bowl with a lid the night before) where all you have to do is pour the milk, let him eat while you do one of the other things
4. work out at least 30-45 minutes-try to do while son is eating breakfast or before kids get up
5. normal showering routine
6. change diaper, clothes & feed baby girl
7. make and pack bottles-night before
8. start car to warm up
9. take kids to two separate schools that are adjacent to each other-figure out dropping off who first makes things quicker
Seems like a couple of hours of stuff to do but with 2 kids, I know it could take twice as long!
Is W there in the morning to be of any help with the kids while you do any of your stuff? It sounds like a packed morning. Mine can both dress themselves and just need some help with their teeth and hair and its still hectic every morning. I try to do as much as possible the night before and let breakfast be something quick, usually in the car.
I'd just never sleep. Period.
Just wondering - where's W when all this goes down?
Joansy is close - my answer is 4:45 to 5 a.m. I did it yesterday, but not today.
Where is W, G asks? He is already at work or in the shower on his way to work. The past 7+ months, he has been in San Antonio working, leaving Mon afternoon and returning very late Thurs nights. Essentially, he is gone.
You guys have given me good feedback. I know I am not the only mom doing this, but I am surprised that it takes me so long to get out the door! And I feel like a pack mule.
T-
I wasn't asking to be insensitive. Just curious. When I was working, I did 95% of the morning routine.
A couple of thoughts - how old is your son? Would it be possible to go ahead and put premeasured (the night before) cereal in a bag and milk in a cup in the fridge? He could dump his own cereal and milk, and get a spoon?
Could you make the bottles the night before, then only have to pack them? Or could you make and pack them and put the bag in the fridge - left open?
How long does the car need to warm up? Could you start the car, then pack the bottles and the car? You probably already do that, you're such a smart cookie.
How close are the schools? Could you park once, drop the kid with the most gear off first, then drop the second off - then get back in the car?
