That is so totally cool. Our first car was a 1988 Jetta which we got in 1999. It was Jeff's dads old car. I hated it, and I think he ripped us off. (More the latter than the former.)
My first car, in 1983, was a 1967 Mercury Cougar. I bought it for $400 and would be thrilled to own it again. I wih I could find a picture.
My husband has a 1967 Beetle that he swears he is going to fix up and turn into an electric car for me. Your photo makes me want to urge him to make it a priority.

That car so rocks! It definitely has personality--my first car was an '81 Honda Accord hatchback, beige, BORING!
