Update to TIART / Plantar Fasciitis

I appreciate everyone's advice and input on plantar fasciitis from last week's TIART. I have been diligently stretching and I bought a pair of orthotics from the New Balance store on Monday. I used them in my running shoes this morning and my feet were oh so happy. It was a wee bit strange for one foot, but the other foot was fine. The result is that I am not struggling when I rise from my chair today.

I also stretch my foot through the day, simply tilting my heel back / foot up while wearing heels.

As an aside, the New Balance sales person was amazing. He was full of advice and did not try to sell me a pair of shoes. He stated that they have podiatrists train the staff and provide pointers so that they can better assist customers. He questioned me on various things, like what size shoe I wore, what type, wide or not wide, he measured my foot and determined I may need to go to a wider width, but if I did that, I might have problems with my other foot. (anyone buy two different shoe sizes for each foot?) I was impressed. That is truly knock your socks off service.

Growing up, I wished they sold shoes singly - my feet were a size and a half apart. As I matured, they righted themselves and are now very nearly the same size.

Glad to hear things have improved!

I've always gotten really good service at the New Balance store, I just find that the brooks is a better running shoe for me.

Glad this is helping. A marathon is far on wounded feet.
