    Take It and Run Thursday

This is my first time joining the folks at Runner's Lounge and their weekly Take It and Run Thursday. In 13 words or less, share the best lesson learned about running. There are so many thoughts doing laps in my head, some are stronger than others, some are mere wisps of a thought. How many of them can be distilled into 13 words is unsure. But let's pick one. A good one, too. Hmmm. Quite the challenge, no?

Runners are everyday people with a superhuman addiction to training, endorphins and life.

So what does this mean? To me, it means that every person has the ability to be a runner. It's inside all of us. And even though we are normal people, we have extraordinary abilities to push ourselves beyond what we think we can do and beyond what we have told ourselves we can do. We have learned to push harder and we are rewarded for this hard work with endorphins - real or imagined - and a better life.

Today's workout: 3.5 mi; 5x0.25 mi hill repeats at 7% grade (argh! they were tough); time 33 min

PS - John Irving and Prayer for Owen Meany is one of my most favorite books. I was just thinking about picking it up and reading it again the other day.

Yeah, "superhuman" -- that's m....oh, wait, the person who knows me best is here and she knows better. :) She does say that I'm "obsessed" with running.
