A Runner's Thoughts
Today's workout was good - I watched Workout on Bravo, courteous of the dvr.
Distance = 4.5 mi run + 0.75 walk
Time = 38 min for run / 49 min walk
Type = started at 6.0, ramped up 0.1 mph every minute, ended at 8.0, then went back down by 45 sec increments. This a great type of workout on the treadmill and has kept me from being incredibly bored during the week.
Tomorrow - 9 miles - I hope to wake before the family and knock it out before 7 a.m. We have two soccer games tomorrow and precious little time for running.
Do you feel like you can talk for hours about running and have nobody who shares your passion? Sometimes I feel like that. W always asks me how my run was, I generally give him more information than I am sure he wants, but he dutifully listens. I am not sure he is hearing me and understands what I am trying to say, but he nevertheless lets me talk.
When Vicky was here ealier this week, it was like I was able to talk as long as I liked about running - about the little foibles each runner has - what is the most comfortable pace for you / are you faster pre or post baby / what do you realistically think you can do for X race / what are the infinitesimal details about your training plan / how do you treat plantar fasciitis and how does it really feel / what about runner's trots?
Yeah - all those really boring details that consumes a runner's thoughts. If you do not have a friend, where do you go? With whom do you share these stories? What resources do you use again and again?

You can always call me, my friend.
Lately, good runs have been few and far between. When they do happen I call my dad.
In fact, in Denver, I called my dad while I was still in the chute.
Fortunate to have him, I am.
Yeah, I even bore The Man with it. AND he runs. It's better now that he is running again. But I could and do go on for hours and hours...
It's how See Nat Run started.
Ah, Workout, one of my guilty pleasures. I kind of have a love/hate thing going on with it.
The more I run, the more I feel the need to talk about running. Thank goodness for my tri training class, seriously, these people can talk ad nauseum about the minutae of THREE sports :)
LOL, dh is the one who loves to talk about his runs. Now, he has a Garmin Forerunner too, so he looks at his workouts forever. Why is it that I'm just lucky to make it out the door?
Workout: I don't like it as much this season. I definitely don't like Jackie as much this season. She was full of herself last season, but seems out of touch/reach this season.
