    On a Roll

My runs over the past few days have been superb and do you want to know why? Because I have a PLAN. I have mentioned it before, but I seriously have a good plan and I am going to stick with it. I am currently on week 5 of Hal Higdon's Spring Training Plan - Intermediate. I am adding runs to it as I run 6-7 days/wk. I do not enjoy taking a day of rest and I have rarely seen a big benefit to me for cross-training. Maybe I just refuse to acknowledge such.

Anyway, Saturday was scheduled 35 min tempo run, I did that, covered roughly 6.1 miles and made the decision to run 3 additional miles and make it my long run day as well. W and I had dinner plans and I knew I would be drinking some champagne, so I opted to run long on Saturday versus not running long on Sunday.

Sunday, I was not hung over, but was a wee bit stiff, so ran a good 5 miles.

Monday, ran 5 miles, 2 sets of weights, 2 sets of abs. After work, unloaded three pallets of rubber mulch for the kids' playground area. Oh my. That was good, hard labor, folks.

    This morning, ran 4.5 miles.

Tomorrow's plan is hill repeats. They suck. But I have noticed they help.

    Gotta love a plan.

Glad to hear you have a plan and its making your runs better! I did regular mulch and it certainly was hard labor.

My tri class is coming to a close so I need to find a plan to get me through to the first race in 6 weeks and then to Iron Girl 9 weeks from then.
