The End is Near
The end of major construction on our house, that is. I have been told that we will be able to cook breakfast in our new kitchen on Saturday morning. It looks like it may be a very real possibility. The kitchen looks simply amazing. It has white cabinets, white tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances and light fixtures, black granite countertops, black slate tile floors and candy apple red walls. W thought it might be too stark. I think it is crisp and clean, like a kitchen should be. Frankly, it is beautiful, if I do say so myself.
Our house is a mid 1920's Georgian home and so we tried to keep the new construction in a similar vein as the old home and to marry the two in a nice way. Our architect was fantastic and has done a marvelous job of transitioning from one part of the house to the other.
We are already in the master suite - as of Sunday - and it rocks. We have been able to spread out and enjoy a bit of freedom and privacy without workers walking through this portion of the home.
I am trying to think of what first meal I want to cook in my new kitchen!

MARVELOUS - you've been such a trooper putting up with all the renovations. Anxious to see it.
