Two Ships That Pass In the Night

As I sit here at work, I am pondering when I am going to have a minute to talk to my husband. I mean really talk to him. About work issues. Not about home issues. That's another post.

W has been out of town this week. He was in Little Rock on Monday, El Paso on Tuesday and is going to KC tomorrow. He is in town today and playing golf on a "marketing" effort on Friday.

My colleague, David, manages to talk to him in the early hours of the morning before many others come into the office or in the late evening hours. The manager of the KC office, who seems to need some attention every now and then, tends to call W at home in the evenings and they often talk for over an hour.

I am considering calling my boss [/husband] on the cell phone in order to talk to him and have his undivided attention.

Do you think it will work?

Oh, wait. That would require good cell phone reception, the kids to be in bed, and both of us to be awake.

Yeah. Feel your pain on that one. Not to mention that nothing irks me more than people he works with all freaking day calling in the middle of dinnertime to discuss work issues....

Rant over. So what did you decide to do?

I feel your pain sister. B and I work together and have been like ships passing in the night these past few weeks, too. Hugs!

I can understand why you would be frustrated. I hope it works out soon.

I can't imagine how you keep it all together. We are in the same city, home together every night and we can't even manage more than who is going where and when conversations.

I think business travel right now might send me completely over the edge!
