The Time Has Come
Right now, I have Midnight Oil thrumming in my brain. It's not like I have heard the song in the past 30 days. It's just that I love this song - Beds Are Burning. Plus, it's a good song to run to. I need to go download it from iTunes this very moment....
Okay. Back.
So, the time is nearing, anyway. In T-4 days, I will be running the marathon in Napa. The weather outlook is perfect at 42 to 68 deg F. The marathon starts at 7 a.m. and I hope to be finished around 11 a.m. I have at least three goals paces, depending on how I feel.
Feeling like I could set the world on fire = 3:50 finish time = 8:47 min/mi pace
Feeling like I am really doing well = 4:00 finish time = 9:10 min/mi pace
Feeling good, but not great = 4:10 finish time = 9:33 min/mi pace
Feeling pretty good, but sucking wind a bit and it may just be a bit too hot = 4:20 finish time = 9:55 min/mi pace
I am running it with a lady I met on babyfit.com. She has a twin sister who may join us for the last 7-8 mi of the race. I am very excited about this.
I have my iTunes ready to go with a playlist that lasts over 5 hours. It's filled with songs by the Black-Eyed Peas, Beyonce', Eurythmics, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Cake, Johnny Cash, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Gwen Stefani and let's not forget SexyBack. I know its super cheesey, but they make me want to get up and dance or run.
So, come Sunday morning at 7 a.m. PT, and for about 4 hours thereafter, send me all the strong, you-can-do-it vibes you possibly can.
A recap in a week. Or, if you cannot wait until then, you can find my results at: http://www.napavalleymarathon.org/results/

I can't see how you *could* run without Timberlake.
You are gonna do awesome. Kick @ss. Rock the stratosphere. And have a blast.
P.S. I love how you left to download Midnight Oil and came back. Ha ha!
You know what? iTunes doesn't have it!!! Tragedy!
I have it at home, so will upload the album next week. I got Generals Talk instead.
Good luck, Tree!
By the way, I saw your comment about flying through Vegas. We fly in on Saturday, but we fly out on Wednesday night around 6 PM I think....maybe we'll run past each other at the airport!
Good luck, Tree! I'll be sending you some "good run" vibes on Sunday.
I'm so impressed! Have a great run.
Sending you vibes for a great run and fabulous weather. Enjoy yourself a little too.
