    Feeling Good

Y'all are likely weary of my constant posting about running. But here's the deal. It makes me feel great. A good run first thing in the morning, while the rest of the family sleeps, makes me a different person than if I had slept in and was wiping sleep from my eyes as I enter the shower.

So I had another good one today. By good, I mean great. I ran 6.5 mi in 54 minutes. That's fast for me. It's not fast for many people, but it is for me. Considering a year ago (or more), I was slogging out 10 min/mi most of the time, with a rare 9 min/mi pace, this is progress.

W bought me a beautiful necklace and earring set for my birthday. I have worn the earrings several times, but was hesitant to wear the necklace. I work in for a general contractor and typically have not been dressing up at work. But I find that I take myself a bit more seriously if I look nice, so have been making more of an effort over the past few weeks. I think having pants that fit me well has been one reason.

I also feel good because I did not raise my voice to N at all this morning. I was calm, cool, and level-headed. He was not doing anything horrible, but clearly wanted to sleep longer and was not ready to wake and start the morning routine. Being calm myself helped make him calm.

Baby girl is going up on her knees and rocking. She looks too small to crawl! She is not sitting very well, but seems to be more interesting in crawling than sitting. Also, started her on cereal in the evenings and last night, I think she finally took to it.

Hoping to have some bubble-y tomorrow night with a friend. W will be in Atlanta and my friend will be at her parents with her twin boys. Looking forward to it!

If nothing else goes right during the day, I know that I was able to conquer my mind over body issue for the hour I ran and I feel my very best after a good run.

I read somewhere that people who run more than 15 miles a week are doing it for more than just the exercise, no matter what they say.

    Excellent on all fronts.

Today, after nursing a sore foot for a week, I pounded out 3 mi in 35 minutes. Excellent for me.

I really wish I could make myself like to run but I see it as a form of torture. I do need some kind of exercise though and it really does have a full mind, body, spirit effect.

Have a great time with Anne!

what a great run!!! good for you. Enjoy your evening tonight too.

So does feeling good about what you were wearing mean you have decided to wear the necklace, or are you still holding out for the right occassion?
