Flailing While Trying to Keep My Head Above Water

I am beyond swamped right now.

School - need to present my case (which is not nearly as bad as I thought in comparison to other's) tomorrow night, so need to put together some sort of slide presentation on it today or tomorrow; need to read the six case reports by my classmates and write two-page critiques of each (I wonder if he wants double-spaced or single-spaced?) to hand in tomorrow night before class. And my brother arrives tomorrow at noon. Without a car. With no agenda. I hope he wants a long nap by himself in our house.

Work - as usual, many deadlines creeping up and many issues to be dealt with each day, all new and unpredictable. I am putting out fires and if I do not see flames, I am ignoring it for now.

Home - refrigerator contains hamburger buns, tortillas, shredded cheeses, very good eat while drinking wine cheeses, very green apples, one red onion, one red pepper, 1% milk and some Perrier. The cupboards do not look much better. How on earth can three people go through food this quickly? Appears we are eating out and / or eating quesadillas. Fortunately, laundry is okay until the weekend.

Husband - about to head to San Antonio Mon-Fri starting next week and lasting through the end of August, at the earliest. 'nuff said.

Son - about to start one week of summer camp. In desperation, I begged his school to make an exception (I know they made one for another mom of one of son's friends) and allow him into their summer camp program. Children must be entering K at the minimum, but he will not be entering K until next year. $1,000 later, I have him enrolled. It is going to help maintain my sanity to have him in something with structure. I had pulled him from daycare, he has been with my SIL and her two girls last week and this week, but he lacks discipline and structure and this child needs both of those things. Hell, I believe all children do, but that's another post for another day.

I must sign myself up for some swim lessons.
